FAQ:

Is this where I put my bid?

No. This is the contact information only, bids need to be in the comment section of the art auction page. This way anyone can see what the most current bid is.

Why do you need this info?

Whoever has the highest bid by noon on closing day will be the “winner”, if you win then we will need your contact information in order to reach out to you. We will then work with you directly to secure payment to the charity and get the art piece to you. Make sure this information is accurate, if we cannot reach you within 48 hours of closing then we will move on the next highest bid as winner.

If I have the highest bid should I go the charity’s website and pay immediately to lock it in?

No. Because items bought in a charity auction are treated more like a purchase rather than donation, you cannot pay through the Canada Helps website as this will automatically generate a tax receipt, and this would be considered tax fraud. We don’t want that for you, so please work with us directly to ensure that payment can be collected in a safe way that still follows Canadian laws.

Do I need to fill out this form every time I bid?

No. You only need to fill it out for your first bid. If you are using an alias rather than your real name on the comment section (for anonymity) just make sure to use the same alias every time you bid. If your first alias is “Little Red Riding Hood” then don’t put “The Big Bad Wolf” on your next bid, stay with whatever exact alias you connected to your real name on this form.
